How to Enter

Register your school, charity or organisation now!

We can only accept entries for the Little Tiger Press Young Writer & Illustrator Awards 2010 from schools, youth charities and youth organisations with pupils currently in years 1 to 6.

Step 1 – Upload a competition banner

To register, simply upload a competition banner to your website. There are two versions of our banner and you can upload either.

To do so, simply copy and paste the code below the banner you've chosen and place it anywhere on your school's or organisation's website (the banner must be visible on a public page that any one can see), make sure you copy the entire code by scrolling down to the end of the text box. The banner must be in place until 31 December 2010.

If you are unable to upload the banner onto your school site then please place it on a micro site, blog, or any other site you can access.

Step 2 - Complete the registration form below

2. Organistation Details If your organisation has a registration number please enter it below, We can only accept entries from schools, charities and organisations.
3. Banner Details To enter the awards you must first display one of our competition banners on your organisation's website. Please enter above the web address of the page displaying the banner

After submitting your form, we will confirm your registration by email. You will then be sent a download link for a pack with the materials you will need for the competition and information about how to submit the chosen entries for your organisation or school.

There are guidelines for writing and drawing games, exercises and inspiration to get the children started, plus copies of the authors' and illustrators' work for the children to use. There is an entry form to attach to the pupils' manuscripts and drawings. The school or organisation should choose their top 5 entries for each of the 4 award categories, and post or email them to the address provided, to arrive no later than 23rd July 2010. The categories are:

  • Writer Award for Key Stage 1 pupils (5-7 years old)
  • Writer Award for Key Stage 2 pupils (8-11 years old)
  • Illustrator Award for Key Stage 1 pupils (5-7 years old)
  • Illustrator Award for Key Stage 2 pupils (8-11 years old)

    The Little Tiger Press Young Writer and Illustrator Awards are designed to encourage reading and creativity in children from an early age. It is an annual competition aimed at schools, charities and organisations in the UK.

    It aims to promote a life-long love of books and to give children a sense of enjoyment and confidence in reading, writing and illustrating.
