Welcome to the Little Tiger Press Young Writer and Illustrator Awards 2010!
We’re looking for budding writers and illustrators, aged between 5 and 11, to take part in the very first Little Tiger Press Young Writer & Illustrator Awards, sponsored by PriceMinister.
This national competition is designed to tie in with Key Stages 1 and 2 of English Writing and Art and Design, and will give children a fantastic opportunity to develop their own stories and artwork inspired by ideas from some of the best-loved Little Tiger Press authors and illustrators.
We have lots of exciting prizes to offer including:
- Up to £800 in PriceMinister vouchers for the winning school or organisation.
- Up to £75 in PriceMinister vouchers for the individual winning entries.
- A chance for pupils to meet the authors and illustrators at a special prize-giving and to join them in a free workshop.
- Plus the winners of each award will have their work professionally designed and framed.

It’s easy to enter!
To enter the Writing Award, visit About the Awards where you will find illustrations by two acclaimed illustrators from Little Tiger Press. Each child simply needs to pick the illustration that inspires them most, and write a story linking to it, the more creative and interesting the better. Please make sure the pieces of writing are a minimum of 400 words but no longer than 600 words.
The Illustrator Award works in exactly the same way. When you visit About the Awards, you will see pieces of writing by two popular authors from Little Tiger Press. Children should pick the story that captures their imagination the most, then draw and colour a picture inspired by that story. Each school or organisation then picks their top five per category to enter.

About the judging process
The competition will be judged by the authors and illustrators, plus the editors and art director from Little Tiger Press. Click here to Meet the Judges.
